What I Was Looking Into: I came across an Instagram account selling high-end watches at super low prices. It looked suspicious, so I decided to dig deeper with basic OSINT techniques to see if it was a scam.

How I Investigated: Searched for the account name on Reddit and Facebook, focusing on scam-related keywords. Ran reverse image searches on the product photos using Google and Yandex. Went through the full Instagram profile and checked all posts, photos, videos, and patterns. Looked for any real business info (address, contact, etc.).

What I Found: The account had around 250 posts. Almost every photo (7-8 per post) was taken from the exact same angle, same lighting, same background. Videos showed someone wearing the watch, but the hand movements were identical across completely different posts like copied and reused. Reverse image searches turned up nothing. No matches on legit sites or anywhere else online. Found multiple complaints on Reddit (scam subs) and Facebook groups: people paid, never got the watch, or received cheap fakes. Some directly named the account. No real shop address, phone number, or legit customer support.
